LADAKH offers great scope for undertaking adventure activities
amidst breathtaking landscape & rugged beauty.
Ladakh has been a great attraction for the past few decades
for the trekkers from around the world. There are many areas
to trek around Ladakh like Nomadic area of (Rupshu & Kharnak),
Zangskar, Nubra Valley, Kargil, and Leh itself. We cannot
express it in words how wonderful place Ladakh is for
trekking. It’s our endeavour to offer you some of the best
trekking locals in Ladakh taking to isolated villages or
monastic settlements, or across a ridge to enjoy the sheer
beauty of the lunar mountainscape.
Trekking in Ladakh offers wonderful opportunity for direct
interaction with unique cultures and the natural world. The
first westerner in this region was a Portuguese traveler Diogo
d’Almeida, who crossed the high passes in 1600.
LADAKH is the highest, most remote and least populated region
in the whole country. It has become a popular destination for
aficionados of wild mountains and unique culture.
The environment in LADAKH is fragile as the survival of the
inhabitants depends upon the land, despite its apparent
starkness. As such, it’s our endeavour to keep our trekking
locals clean and pollution free and request same to the
trekkers. Every one should ensure that no garbage is left
undisposed at camp site. Plastic containers and polythene
wrappers must be incinerated or brought back, while other
types of garbage should be properly buried.

MARKHA VALLEY TREK |

|
MARKHA valley, the classic trekking route takes you through some of the most
beautiful villages, were you can explore the traditional life style of LADAKH,
the crumbling forts and the Buddhist gompas scattered throughout. The meandering
Markha River is our guide; we follow it through groves of apricot, willow,
popular & Himalayan oak trees and gaze up at the cathedral-like structures
perched on the cliffs which tower above us. Along the way, we are likely to spot
wildlife such as deer, blue sheep and ibex serenely grazing in the valley.
Monasteries hold 'pujas' or prayer ceremonies in the mornings and evenings,
prayer flags are strung up on high peaks, monks wander the trails and villagers
bring offerings to the Gompas………………..

LAMAYURU to PADUM Trek |
|
|
This is a challenging Himalayan trek in an exotic land of ancient kingdoms. This
trek starts from Phinjila (3420 mts.) around 4 hours drive. This trek leads you
to the Zanskar Valley. Zanskar region is a small and isolated region. It
comprises two narrow valleys. The Stod Valley in the north-west and the Tsarap
Valley in the south-east, which converge at Padum, the administrative center of
the region and leads you to the Himalayan ranges of Kashmir, from the rugged
ranges to the beautiful green mountains.
Tibetan Buddhist lamas, cliff-side monasteries, grazing yaks and lively, traditional villages add a sense of the otherworldly to our journey through Ladakh & Zanskar.
This is one of the hardest trek because of great number of ups and down but a
beautiful one because you cross through several villages with exhilarating
landscape. The best period is from June to October……………

RUPSHU VALLEY |
|
|
The people of Ladakh have lived for centuries in barren, inhospitable terrain.
But the Ladakh for tourists and the Ladakh for trekkers and climbers are two
different worlds. Many people stay at Leh, visit monasteries and enjoy the
barrenness. But if you can manage some treks, there is nothing quite like
Tsomoriri. Heading southeast, we cross remote mountain passes to reach the 4500
meter Changtang plateau and Lake’s Tsokar & Tso Moriri, where the Tibetan nomads
of Rupshu Kharnak live, as they have throughout history. This region is famed
for its good grazing, and the nomadic population has traditionally transmigrated
from the high plains of Tibet in search of nutritious grass for their livestock,
salt to trade, and a market for their butter and wool.
The high-altitude brakish lakes of Tso Moriri and Tso Kar, backed by high snow-peaks, are stunning, and we camp along the meandering rivers that feed into the lakes.
Being a high altitude trek of an average of always above 4000 mts., one
should be highly acclimatized and physically fit. The true beauty of the region
lies in its vast untamed space, wildlife & nomadic inhabitants.

KHARNAK RUPSHU NOMADS |
|
|
Kharnak is a remote region situated between Indus Valley and Zangskar, on the
western edge of Rupshu. The area is sparsely inhabited by semi-nomadic peoples.
Their simple winter villages and summer encampments are the only signs of
civilization you’ll see on this demanding high altitude trek.
The journey begins in the green Markha Valley, a bit lower in elevation, where we have plenty of time to explore the traditionally Ladakhi villages, the crumbling forts and the Buddhist gompas scattered throughout.
When the trek enters Kharnak after crossing Zalungkarpo-la pass 5050mts. the trek gets tough as you are always above 4000mts. Changtang plateau and Lake Tso Moriri, where the Tibetan nomads of Kharnak live as they have throughout history. This region is famed for its good grazing, and the nomadic population has traditionally transmigrated from the high plains of Tibet in search of nutritious grass for their livestock, salt to trade, and a market for their butter and wool.

CHADDAR TREK IN WINTER
|
|
CHADDAR TREK |
|
|
Duration : 23 Days
Trekking Days:
Best period: Mid Jan. - Mid February
Chaddar "Frozen Blanket" is the only way in and out for Zanskaris in winter
times, because the road is closed due to heavy snowfall at high passes. It has
been the traditional trade route in winter for centuries. The trek takes you
into gorges and temperatures below (-) 25-degree centigrade, and staying
overnight in caves and walking on frozen river. This itself is an ultimate
experience for adventure lovers
