KASHMIR – LADAKH TOUR

Kashmir, 'HEAVEN ON EARTH' is a land of sparkling rivers and placid lakes, meadows of flowers and saffron fields, snow caped mountains with pine trees and the mighty chinars.

After crossing the over ZOJI-La pass, we enter western parts of LADAKH. You can see the whole transformation of nature, culture, language every village you cross by. Drass, 3230m a small town on Srinagar-Kargil highway, locally called HEMBABS (snow land) is renowned as the second coldest inhabited place of the world because of intensely cold winters and heavy snowfall. SURU valley, one of the most beautiful regions of Ladakh is the heartland of KARGIL district. Nestling along the northern foothills of the great Himalayan wall are beautiful places like SANKOO, PANIKHAR, RANGDUM before reaching ZANSKAR, the most isolated valley of all the Trans-Himalayans.

Without a tour of LEH town your tour of LADAKH is incomplete. You spend one day in the town and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this little piece of old Tibet, King Tashi Namgyal's 15th century Himalayan capital. There is lots to explore in this wonderful Central Asian town, the fort and palace, colorful gompas, the mosque, alleys with steaming Muslim bread and tiny antique shops tucked away, colorful bazaars and even a polo field

... And, of course, we'll show you the bakeries, cafes and tandoori restaurants with cold beer for our dinners together!

When we enter the nomadic region of Karnak & Rupshu, we will hear the shrill calls of Ladakhi nomads herding their Pashm goats, sheep and yaks. And have salt-butter tea, fresh yogurt and dried apricots with the nomads, many of them old friends.

ADVENTURE & CULTURE TOUR

A Ladakhi Proverb "The land is so barren and the passes so high that only the best of friends or fiercest enemies would want to visit us."

Despite the arrival of plane-loads of tourists, Leh has managed to retain most of its charms. The people of ladakh have lived for centuries in barren, inhospitable terrain. Many people stay at leh, visit monasteries and enjoy barrenness. But we would like you to take you through some remote villages, monasteries of Ladakh with some sort of adventure. Our idea is to provide you a package with an amalgamation of culture, adventure & sightseeing in your short visit.

A visit to the village served as the capital city when Ladakh was temporarily divided in 15th century. The remains of temples & forts of that period reflects their brief glory. Few days of hiking takes you to the village of craftsmen producing best metal work of ladakh. When we enter the nomadic region of Karnak & Rupshu, we will hear the shrill calls of Ladakhi nomads herding their Pashm goats, sheep and yaks. And have salt-butter tea, fresh yogurt and dried apricots with the nomads, many of them old friends.
